  • Temperatures are long-term monthly means (day and night) from NASA POWER climatology (T2M), fetched 2026-09-22, measured at Madrid, Spain. This is climate, not a forecast.
  • We have no wet-season data for this place, so rain is not part of the ranking.
  • We hold no data on crowds, prices or holidays, so peak months may be busier and dearer than the rating suggests.

Frequently asked questions

How does this tool pick the best month?
For each month we take the long-term average temperature for the place (NASA POWER climatology) and compare it with a comfortable range for the kind of trip you chose: 13 to 22 C for sightseeing, 22 to 29 C for beach weather, 6 to 15 C for hiking, and below 2 C for snow. Months inside the range rate Great. Months outside lose points for every degree away from it, and months in the place's rainy season lose more.
Is this the average high or the average temperature?
It is the monthly mean, the average over day and night. Daytime highs are usually 4 to 6 degrees above it, and nights are cooler. A 20 C mean means pleasant afternoons in the mid-20s.
Does it include crowds, prices or school holidays?
No. We hold no seasonal data for crowds, hotel prices or public holidays, so the ranking is about weather only. Peak summer and school-holiday months are usually busier and dearer, so check prices on the hotel and flight searches for the months you shortlist.
Where does the rain information come from?
Only some places have wet-season months in our table, and it is a coarse guide, not rainfall in millimetres. Where a place has none listed we say so rather than guess. Use the Weather Check tool for more detail on popular destinations.
Why does a country show the data of one city?
For country and region entries we use one representative city, named under the result. A country with big climate differences, such as Italy or Australia, will feel different away from that city.
Can I see the temperatures in Fahrenheit?
Yes. Use the Show in Fahrenheit button above the table. The ranking itself always uses the Celsius ranges described above, and your choice is remembered on this device.
Is this a forecast?
No. These are long-term averages, not a forecast for a specific year. Individual weeks can be much warmer, colder or wetter.
