Thick split-pea soup with smoked sausage.
About Erwtensoep
Split peas are simmered with pork, celeriac and leek until so thick a spoon stands up in it, then served with smoked rookworst sausage and rye bread. It is the Dutch winter soup, eaten when canals freeze.
