Gyudon
Bowl of rice topped with sweet simmered beef and onion.
About Gyudon
Thin slices of beef and onion are simmered in a sweet-savoury broth of soy, mirin and dashi, then ladled over a bowl of hot rice. Fast, cheap and comforting, it is a fixture of Japanese chain diners.
