Why visit Valencia

Valencia cooks the rice it grows — the grains for a paella-valenciana come from the Albufera, 20 minutes south of the cathedral. The Turia riverbed, emptied after the 1957 flood rerouted the river, is now a 9-kilometre park running past Calatrava’s City of Arts and Sciences.
